One of the things I remember most fondly about growing up was how much time and how much fun I had on my skateboard.
The sport of skateboarding has grown by leaps and bounds since then, and was even introduced as an Olympic Sport in Tokyo this year.
It s almost a rite of passage for a kid to love, hate, crash, scrape, grind, and a bunch of other adjectives with their skateboard. Even my morning show co-hosts son Logan was excited to show me his moves on his skateboard with his cousin last night at the Summer Fun Concert Series at Mill Park in Augusta.

Fundraiser to expand Augusta Skate Park seeks to make park more inviting to newcomers
The fundraiser also seeks to honor the late Chris Thompson, a frequent skater known for welcoming new skaters to the park, who died in a car crash earlier this year.
