murdaugh. good morning, ever. it is saturday, january 28th. i m amara walker. good morning, amara. i m boris sanchez coming to you live from memphis, tennessee, where this morning the city is still reeling from the brutal beating of tyre nichols at the hands of five, now former memphis police officers. the full video of that beating was released to the public last night and it is extremely difficult to watch. absolutely. and as you would imagine, that video, the series of videos bringing out strong emotions for so many people last night and into this morning. it is difficult to watch. it shows the deadly encounter between tyre nichols and memphis police. the images and the four video clips are graphic. they are disturbing, as we said, and they are critical, though, to understanding the reality and gravity of what happened. now, nichols was pulled over january 7th allegedly for reckless driving, but the police chief said the department has been unable to find anything th
some of what we are about to show you is graphic. body cam video showing officer ace preaching with hitter firearms, yanking nichols out of his car. he breaks free from the officers and runs towards his parents home. a struggle ensues after a chase. police then using pepper spray, batons, their fists, their feet to beatnik cols. at one point, he cries out for his mother. mom! mom! mom! video from a pole camera showing the full extent. you see nichols there, who is unarmed, kicked in the face, struck at least nine times in a few minutes. at that point, bloodied and propped up onto a squad car. officers are then seen just standing around, not providing nichols with any potentially lifesaving aid. five former memphis police officers now facing several charges including second-degree murder and kidnapping. and after the release of this video, two shelby county deputies who were also there on the scene have now been put on leave pending an investigation into their conduct.

republican nomination. ask he vows to carry on his campaign no matter what prosecutors allege. this exclusive new cnn reporting is this. special counsel jack smith has in his possession an audio record ing in which trump is heard saying he held on to a classified document. that s a giant contradiction from the public assertion he never took anything classified or he can declassify whatever he wants. the tape captures the meeting at trump s golf club. sources say people at that meeting did not have high level security clearances. in the room, trump admits to keeping a memo details an iran attack plan. cnn has not listened to the tape, but sources described it in extensive second by second detail. according to sources, you can even hear the sound of paper rustling ask laughter as if the former president was waving the document around to those in the room. legal analysis in a moment. let s get out to jeff zeleny in
