Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals granted interlocutory review of an enormously significant PFAS class action lawsuit filed in Ohio – Hardwick v. 3M. We previously wrote about the details of the Ohio court’s decision to grant class certification to the lawsuit.
PFAS litigation in the United States has centered on lawsuits filed against PFAS manufacturers for environmental cleanup and remediation. Recently in Europe, PFAS manufacturer 3M agreed to settle PFAS environmental pollution claims brought by Belgium for $581 million.
Sixth Circuit issued an opinion in the Hardwick v. 3M case in which it certified a PFAS class action lawsuit that would include over seven million people. The Ohio court ruled that the class of plaintiffs that will be allowed to proceed with the lawsuit.
