Assistant Commonwealth’s Attorney Jerad Smith had no objection to a pretrial hearing being set, saying that all evidence testing has been significantly slowed in recent times, so Judge Andrew Self set the next hearing for January 27, when he is hopeful this case will finally be able to move forward.
The original arrest warrant from Hopkinsville police says Torian and Moore had been in an argument while both were passengers in a vehicle on McHenry Street in August of 2019. Torian was in the back seat when he exited, opened the front passenger door and allegedly shot Moore in the head.
Byrd is the third attorney that has been assigned to the case.

On August 11, 2019, Torian got into a verbal argument with Moore while they were passengers in a vehicle. Hopkinsville Police said an eyewitness told officers Torian got out of the vehicle on McHenry Street, opened the front passenger door, and shot Moore in the face. Police reported the eyewitness positively identified Torian as the shooter, and he was later arrested in Clarksville.
