The boy had remained in the hospital for 11 days but could not overcome the injuries to his brain, officials said. A partial autopsy was planned to recover the bullet. The boy’s name was not released, nor were the exact circumstances of the shooting, which occurred just after noon on a Sunday afternoon in the 2900 block of Sycamore Street.
