President donald trump has responded to the deal via his press secretary, sarah sanders. Were pleased to see senator schumer accept the deal that President Trump put on the deal from the beginning. A statement from the president of the United States that i quote, im pleased that democrats have come to their senses and are willing to fund oui their senses and are willing to fund our great military, Border Patrol and insurance for vulnerable children. We will work to solve the issue of unfair illegal immigration. We will make a deal if and only if it is good for our country. The democrats agreed to this deal because republicans promised to address a key immigration issue. But the fall out continues about why this shutdown ever happened. Heres the most senior democratic senator blaming the president. The grea

Country. 89 of the country feel theyre middle class. They havent been getting squat. They are getting less money. Oh, by the way now they have obamacare. Melissa yeah. So theyre saying we want something for the middle class, if republicans democrats, working together cant give them something for the middle class we will have a taxpayer revolt. Melissa were awaiting Mitch Mcconnell. What do you think he has to say . He will offer the president an opportunity to work with the new congress to get some things done. Maybe to get tax reform done would be a big item on agenda. Is he optimistic that the president is going to cooperate . Im guessing not. That doesnt mean there arent going to be ongoing nagging problems that are stubborn and cant be solved overnight. And probably the biggest one is the fact that despite economic growth, wages and income have still not gone up. And thats a longterm trend that weve seen for 10, 20, 30 years. And it makes people worried about not just their own situation, but whether their kids are going to be doing better than they did, which is the essence of the american dream. I think there are some concrete things we can do to make sure that wages and incomes do go up. Minimum wage in those five states was a good start. But i think more than anything what i want to communicate over these next two years is the promise and possibility of america. This is just an extraordinary country. And our democracy is messy. And were diverse and were big. And there are times where youre a politician and youre disappointed with election results. But maybe im just getting older i dont know. It doesnt make me mopey. It
