Mourners at the funeral of the Sydney student who died trapped inside his car during the floods in March have remembered him as a kind and caring man dedicated to serving his community.
Ayaz Younus, 25, died on March 24 when his car became submerged in a flooded creek at Glenorie in Sydneyâs north-west as he was driving to his first day of his new job as a truck driver.

Sydney’s Muslim community has remembered the life of Ayaz Younus, an international student from Pakistan who died in March s devastating NSW floods, by sharing stories about his hard work and charity.
The 25-year-old software engineer was on his way to a new job on 24 March when his car was engulfed by floodwaters at Glenorie, in the semi-rural outskirts of Sydney.
He called triple zero for help but it didn’t arrive in time.
His housemates Atta Sharifi and Imran Ahmad are still trying to comprehend their loss.
“This thing can t be described in words, the pain and the grief can t be described in words,” Mr Sharifi said.
