On Monday, April 12, the Community R-6 Athletic Booster Club honored two men who have made a significant contribution to the Community R-VI athletic program by dedicating its newly constructed batting cage in their honor.
Those people are retired Trojans baseball, basketball, softball, and PE coach Jim Brink and retired groundskeeper and custodian Mac McGrew.

• MUD SLUG: Willow Slough in Newton County will host a Mud Slug event on May 15, with participants paddling in a kayak for 1 mile, bicycling for another 20 miles and taking a 10-mile trail run.
