is that the division was discrimination against any and all groups. let me put to one side. the reality is that these universities have been struggling with the reality of needing to engage and produce diverse student bodies that will be able to perform in the global economy. that s something they take seriously. this isn t about quotas. the university of texas case that went up to the supreme court where the decision came down in june 2016, was about whether the university of texas could consider race as one of many factors in creating a diverse student body. among factors whether they have an athletic ability, whether they are a legacy student, for instance. this is a very complicated mix for admissions officers who aren t just looking at race at all. that would be unconstitutional. they are looking at a number of different factors about what brings the student into

one at a time. so what you saw there was jeb this time going toe to toe with donald trump. there were actually about three exchanges like that. and they all ended essentially the same way, with both of them, you know, saying i win, i win, i win. but it was a little different jeb bush than we saw before. is this, anna, at long last the candidate you wanted to see on stage? hallelujah! hallelujah! look, i think we did see a different jeb bush. if i had any athletic ability, i would be doing chartwheels and maybe if it wasn t 35 degrees in vegas right now. i think jeb has understood that performing, theaters, making memorable lines, having memorable moments is part of what this debate process is and that it matters. and he s done it. he s done it well. yesterday, the day before, we were not talking about jeb bush. he was, you know, a little snippet here and there. today he has been at the center of all the media narrative as
advantaged start in life. and these are the donor profiles? you still have these as well? each donor was given a color-coded i.d. to protect their identity. donors clear and fuschia were at the top of their list. with exceptional athletic ability, northwest, european, blue eyes, fair skin, blonde hair, professor of heart science at a major university. he has produced outstanding research. so would you say your first child has outstanding intellect with exceptional athletic ability? i mean, all of these donors sound pretty extraordinary. executive aerospace scientist, graduate involved in genetic research. but i would have a hard time with these. on paper, they re all amazing. david, i have to ask you, as you re thumbing through some of these donor profiles and seeing these extraordinary accomplishments and physical characteristics, did you feel at all any kind of inferiority complex or insecurities? well, there was some insecurity, but not about them.
