In a phone interview Monday, Dr. Celia Brillantes, Assistant City Health Officer, said the city logged 40 HIV/AIDS cases since the onset of the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) pandemic. This, she said, brought to 110 the number of cases they have recorded since the city government started its case surveillance measures in 2017. She said most of those infected are men having sex with men (MSM). Currently, she said a proposed ordinance called the "HIV/AIDS Program in the City of Baguio" is pending before the city council.
