when you talk about lower earning levels for people, it also means lower levels of wealth creation. obviously those who earn more can put more aside, they can leave trust, they can pay for their kids education. as blacks are catching up, it is harder for them to catch up on the asset level. and we ve lost ground. we made headway in the 1980s and in the 1990s. but this recession has pulled the rug out. we ve seen home losses. we re losing that opportunity. we ve had a kick in the gut over the last several years. and the question is, are we going to be able to catch up and do we need to level this playing field in order to do that? part of the leveling the playing field is to get more education. but part of the leveling of the playing field may be to end discrimination in hiring. dr. lomax, always a pleasure to talk to you, president and
