Indian Islamic scholar Dr. Mohammad Ghitreef, in a recent article, criticized the Ulema ("Islamic scholars") for leading the Muslim world into backwardness by impacting the Ottoman and Mughal rulers and by continuing to foster a sense of victimhood among Muslims, preventing them from thinking rationally about current issues.
