welcome to sunday. this is cnn this morning. i m victor brach well. i m amara walker. we begin in allen, texas, where at least eight people have been killed in yet another mass shooting in america. authorities say a gunman opened fire at an ultioutlet mall nort dallas as hundreds of people were, of course, shopping. footage from a witness dashcam shows the moment the gunman got out of his star and started shooting. we are pausing this before the shooting starts. another witness recorded as people tried to get away from the attacker and we are going to play this now, but we warn you it may be hard to watch. you see people there running. of course, you can hear the gunshots. police say that an officer responded and killed the shooter. here is how the mayor of allen reacted. allen is a proud and safe city which makes today s senseless act of violence even more shocking. however, i want to commend our police and fire departments for their quick response. their thorou
hello, everyone. th thank you so much for joining me. we begin in texas when a gunman opened fire into a crowd at an outlet mall in texas just north of dallas. some of what you re about to see is disturbing. a witness dash cam capturing the moment the gunman got out of his car and he immediately began firing and ambushing unsuspecting people walking by. we re pausing the video as people began walking by. others began shooting as the attack unfolded. you hear multiple rapid gunshot. you see people running for their lives and a photo obtained by cnn appears to show the gunman after he was shot by a responding officer. he can see an a.k.-15 rifle. he appears to have extra magazines strapped to his chest. ed lavandera is on the scene in allen, texas. i understand you have learned new details, even though a law enforcement agent said they re not going to have a press conference today? reporter: it s a stunning announcement. we ve reached out to get clarity as to when there mig
later this hour, for now, let s go to rosy flores. it s a little grainy, a little difficult to make out, but my goodness, what it tells you is these migrants were the folks who were waiting here on the side of the street there, really didn t have any chance whatsoever to get out of the way, it happened that fast. reporter: it was so fast. and i talked to the director of the shelter. he says that he was able to capture a different angle from his shelter, and he says what he witnessed happened at about 8:30 central time this morning. he said that it captured about 20 to 25 migrants who had just minxed breakfast at the shelter and had crossed the street and were sitting on a curb waiting for a bus. then the video shows a 2007 range rover at a very high rate of speed ran the red light and hit the curb about 30 feet from where the migrants were and the vehicle got out of control. this director said some of the migrant witnesses say it looked like an intentional act. i asked him
