Dennis Alvern Lea was born October 28, 1961 in Glenwood, MN to Odin and Mabel (Wrolson) Lea. He grew up in rural Brooten, MN. He graduated from Brooten High School in 1981. He worked as a Millwright for United Brotherhood of Carpenter and Joiner of America local 1176 of Fargo, ND.
