Supporting Utah artists

June 3, 2021 While celebrating with their ‘Friends in Low Places,’ attendees of The Garth Brooks Stadium Tour scheduled on July 17, 2021, at Rice-Eccles Stadium will also be providing aid to Utah artists hit hardest by the COVID-19 pandemic. “The University of Utah has raised approximately $50,000 through the revenue generated by tickets sales to support our Utah artists and U students,” said Aaron White, director, Stadium & Arena Event Services. “The U has found a great partner in the Utah Department of Cultural & Community Engagement which does incredible work supporting this community.” The artists receiving grant funding will be professionals who lost significant earnings because of the COVID-19 pandemic which caused the cancellation of festivals, community celebrations, gallery shows and other events relied upon by artists for income.

Equestrian entries open for Royal Highland Showcase

HORSE competitions and displays are always a central part of the Royal Highland Show EQUINE ENTRIES for this year’s Royal Highland Showcase can now be made through the Royal Highland and Agricultural Society of Scotland s online entry portal. Taking place over the week of June 14 to 20, the Showcase, a first of its kind event in the UK, will see the best in livestock judging, equestrian, food and drink and rural skills live-streamed from the Ingliston showground in Edinburgh to a global audience. Entries can now be made online at royalhighlandshow.org for Heavy Horse, Light Horse, Heavy Horse Turnout, Harness Grooming and Decoration, and Private Driving. They will close on May 21.
