The residents of the Ardmore Road area of Mullingar have been very active over the past number of years, and concerned about the effects of the developments on their road and in the area, which has seen the new Curraghmore NS recently opened halfway along this route.
This week, they are furious about being âignoredâ by the County Council in that their detailed submissions were ignored, they say, and their stress on better safety measures are part of plans for a new walk and cycleway.
Playing pitch at Holy Family School will be done ASAP, says Murray

Cllr. Bill Collentine (FF) asked the Municipal District of Mullingar-Kinnegad to advise if a programme is in place to complete the playing pitch at Holy Family School and was informed that the green area for a playing field will be prepared, including re-seeding, in Spring, when the weather will be more suitable.
Mayor Cllr. Collentine, who chaired the meeting pushed for a timeline as he felt it was “very important to the children” but Director of Services Martin Murray said he was hesitant to give a date due to possible delays due to Covid as as the fact “it’s a weather-dependent issue”.
