Cristobal Garcia, has died at the age of 69. A statement issued by his family said he died on Monday, May 10, 2021, while receiving care in Manila for pneumonia, heart failure and acute kidney failure. “We are currently making arrangements to bring his body home to Cebu, where he will lie in state before burial,” the statement read.

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the group ditched a flamboyant celebration of the golden jubilee, holding a low-key program to mark the anniversary late last year with its 250 member nurses.

The concert will be streamed live via Facebook and YouTube at 8.00 pm. KuCCC comprises singers from various parishes in Kuching. With Benedict Lo Jin Chi as the choirmaster and conductor, and Jeffrey Tang as manager, KuCCC won the Christmas Song Category at the 2nd World Virtual Choir Festival 2020 organised by the Bandung Choral Society. “This year has been profoundly challenging and unprecedented for all of us,” remarked Tang. “With the pandemic affecting so many of us, there has never been a better time to share the joy of Christmas than now.”
