As Assam is gearing up for the Assembly Polls, the Cachar district administration of the Barak Valley has earned accolades by making India s longest rangoli to create awareness among voters.
The Cachar district administration has made an eight-km long rangoli on the street in just 24 hours and the initiative was taken in a bid to encourage the voters to exercise their franchise in the upcoming Assembly Polls in the state. This initiative has also found a place in the India Book of Records.
The main objective of making the rangoli is to create awareness among people about participating in our democratic process. People have spontaneously taken part in the event, Jalli told reporters.
