Think of it as a warm-up.
That’s the message from Alfredo Caxaj, TD Sunfest founder and co-artistic director, as London’s acclaimed world music festival announced the lineup of 30 musical acts, including 16 international performers, for its four-day virtual festival July 8-11.
“This will be warm-up for what’s going to happen next year,” said Caxaj, promising a return to a live festival in 2022. “Many of these groups will be coming here next summer and it will be an amazing festival. Unfortunately, we can’t be together again this year, but there will be music for everyone (online) each night.”

The Peruvian Ministry of Culture has launched Amo mis Raices (I Love my Roots) a digital communication campaign that seeks to encourage the appreciation of cultural diversity, through the dissemination of virtual conversations and videos in which artists, TV hosts, athletes, and other outstanding citizens will tell viewers why they are proud of their cultural traditions.
Videos will be broadcast via the Culture Ministry s social networks and the Alerta contra el Racismo (Alert against Racism) Platform; these will feature Shipibo-Konibo artist Olinda Silvano, as well as TV hosts Saywa, Walter Escobar, Cecilia Brozovich, Iris Cardenas, and Martin Arredondo.
