Onalaska boys basketball put perhaps their best team skill on full display over the weekend, and it turned some heads.
Onalaska took down a talented Menomonee Falls team 48-43 at Saturday’s Midwest Players Classic, and how Onalaska won the game on defense is what impressed people the most.
The Hilltoppers held two of the top juniors in the state–Seth Trimble and Steven Clay–to a combined nine points, when those two are usually combining for 40 a game.
“That’s a really good team,” senior Victor Desmond said of Falls, “and I don’t know if we’ll play a better team than that in conference. Knowing that we can do that on defense against those guys, [we can] do that against some of the other players in the conference.”
