This announcement comes roughly a week after his official visit to campus, and he is the third player to commit to the Tar Heels in the 2022 class. Washington is a 6’9, 210-lb player from West Side High School in Gary, IN. He is the sixth-best player at the center position, and he is the 25th-best player in the country according to the 247Sports Composite. Other schools that were in the running for Washington include Alabama, Indiana, Michigan State, Purdue, and Stanford. Some experts had predicted that Indiana was in the lead for him, but his official visit seems to have went well enough that he decided to take his talents to Chapel Hill instead.
