what comes out could be brought to the u.n. security council for a follow-up resolution. that is the concern the israelis are looking at right now, not the conference itself but how it plugs into the bigger issue of what s happened the last few weeks, the u.n. security resolution, the kerry speech and now this. warren, the meeting will be underway. some 70 countries will be there. will it put pressure on the israelis and palestinians to reach a solution? that certainly is the intent to get the sides back to the negotiating table as much as the statements have been made back and forth and the finger pointing. the truth is there hasn t been a negotiation since april of 2014. the pressure has no consequence. if one or both sides ignore what comes out of the conference, there is no cons fence equence ignoring it.
netanyahu ordered the foreign minister to see other steps against the u.n. they are looking at u.n. staff here. this could be the beginning of steps taken against the u.n. and we will see what more parting shots with the obama administration and israeli government. they are pointing fingers at each other, but it is not a secret they have held these party lines for a while. reporter: the obama administration wanted to leave some mark on the israeli/palestinian conflict. it was secretary of state kerry with the last round of negotiation. that fell apart in april of 2014 before the gaza war. kerry expressed issues over not leaving a mark. this is what the obama administration did to leave a mark. to say u.s. ambassador to the u.n. said it wasn t their number

the county and city of flint. stephanie gosk has been in michigan all day, with the latest developments. we ll begin with rachel maddow who is here with me in the studio. great to see you. you brought a lot of attention to this. this goes back to a decision in april of 2014. they switch from one water source to another water source. somebody thought this was a good idea. well, it didn t have to be a terrible idea. it was doable. they just did it wrong. they did it in a way that was catastrophically wrong. they were in dire financial straits. the state came in and they did this thing that you can do in michigan, it s very radical, they can essentially come in and overrule all local elections and put in place a state appointed emergency manager to take the place of anybody who you elected locally. that state appointed emergency manager, there were four of them implicated in this. what they decided to do, they were going to move flint to a cheaper source of drinking
supporting and once again in an armed standoff with the federal government. the thing that s incredible, the sheriff asked them to go, the family asked them to go. i m not sure what i that ear trying to accomplish. are they seizing the federal land? and if so, for whom? is this a reaction to the way things were handled in nevada? i think joy is absolutely right. the bundy family saw themselves as heroes. they were lionized by people like cruz, trump, carson and rand paul. you know sean hannity extolled their virtued every day. and when no one was arrested the malitia world said courage is contagious. and the number of militias in our country have grown considerably since that time. what we re seeing is the predictable result of the failure of law enforcement to crack down because of what happened at the bundy ranch in april of 2014. let s listen to what marco
