The suspect apparently confronted his ex wife right behind me here and now he is dead from an apparenty self inflicted gunshot wound. According to redwood city police, around 2 15 tuesday afternoon a 43yearold man confronted his 44yearold exwife in the parking lot of her employer here along penobscot drive. The woman apparently had a restrain order against her exhusband and refused to talk to him. According to police, the man retrieved a handgun from his truck and chased his exwife across the parking lot. They also believe that during the pursuit he fired at least one shot. The woman managed to call 911 on her cell phone and then hid. When Police Arrived on scene, they confronted the man and tried to get him to lower his weapon. Based on some emails parents have told us about, its a student on the miramonte high swim team. They recently competed in a meet at Dougherty Valley High School on the 18th. As such, health and School Officials have been giving parents of athletes who were at that meet, a heads up. They were urged to take their kids to the doctor to get antibiotics for meningitis, just as a precaution. Some students i talked to here feel like the situation is being handled the best it can be.
