Gunmen had kidnapped the cleric and his wife at a prayer camp at Fadan Kagoma, near Kafanchan in Jema’a local government area of Kaduna on Friday.
In a statement on Sunday, Samuel Aruwan, Kaduna state commissioner for internal security and home affairs, revealed that the chairman and his wife had been released.
He noted that security agencies informed the state government that the preacher and his wife were released by their abductors on Sunday afternoon.

The commissioner added that Nasir el-Rufai, governor of Kaduna state, expressed relief over the release of the couple and offered them his best wishes.

Kidnapped Chairman of the Kaduna State chapter of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria, Apostle Emmanuel Egoh Bako, and his wife, Cindy, have regained freedom from their captors.
At about 8:00 pm on Christmas day, Gunmen invaded the Albarka Prayer Camp at Fadan Kagoma near Kafanchan in Jema’a Local Government Area of the state, shot indiscriminately before taking away the cleric, wife and one other person identified as Mr Douglas to an unknown destination.

Apostle Emmanuel Ego Bako and wife, Cindy have regained their freedom about forty-eight hours after he was abducted by gunmen from their residence in Kafanchan, Jema’a Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
This was contained in a statement on the security update issued by the Commissioner of Internal Security and Home Affairs, Samuel Aruwan on Sunday.
According to him, the security agencies informed the government that the clergyman and his wife have regained their freedom on Sunday afternoon.
