After nearly four decades, the United Liberation Front of Asom (ULFA) disbanded in a meeting at Sipajhar. Following a settlement with the Indian government on December 29, ULFA s chairman, Arabinda Rajkhowa, announced the decision to dissolve. The outfit, comprising around 700 members, will vacate designated camps, surrender arms, and end its existence.
