Stopgap measure thats their own numbers crafted. A small group of republican Holdouts Numbering at about 21 voted against. Its that small group was more than enough to tank the bill, and send republicans back to square one. Possibly taking any hope of avoiding a showdown with them. It was the latest sign of the ongoing division and disarray among the house gop conference. Since the beginning of this, year unresolved tensions between speaker Kevin Mccarthy and a handful of the parties extremists led by florida congressman matt gaetz have repeatedly pled to to our door. Now it appears that they are willing to make good on those threats. As things stand right, now neither house, nor the senate have managed to pass any bills that can avert a shutdown. If no deal is mixed reached by midnight, tonight about 820,000 federal employees, thats nearly 1 million federal workers, in major agencies will be according to the White House Office of management and. A connection or closely connected, suggested a link between his opposition to mailin balloting and the election to come. I think youre going to play that for us so we can ask you about it on the other side. Yeah, its a remarkable, andrea, that President Trump is digging in, refusing democrats demands for billions of dollars for the Postal Service and for mailin ballots. He is trying to make the case that that would lead to fraud. Of course there is nothing to suggest that that is the case. And in fact independent Fact Checkers have said thats not true. Now, there are some concerns about potential delays. This is going to be an unprecedented election, people voting against the backdrop of a pandemic. So there will be an increase in mailin ballots. A stunning revelation as Postal Service delays are starting to creep into the states. In pennsylvania, for example, usps says it may be impossible for voters to request, complete, an return ballots in time for the election. The Postal Service sending a similar warning to voters in michigan. And vice news is now reporting theyre deactivating machines in time for the election, the same kind of ma cheejs used to sort ballots. All of this coming as the president admitted he doesnt want more funding for the u. S. Postal service because he doesnt want to see widespread mailin voting which is more likely to be used by democrats. They want 25 billion for the post office because the post office is going to have to go to town to get these ridiculous ballots in. You know, theres nothing wrong with getting out and voting. If we dont get t
