The YMCAs of Timmins and northeastern Ontario have officially come together to form one organization.
The change came into effect April 1 and will see both Ys referred to collectively as the YMCA of Northeastern Ontario.

The YMCA made the announcement Thursday through Zoom.
âThis is a journey that our YMCAs have been on for over five years as part of a regional dialogue,â said Antoine Vezina, vice-chair of the YMCA of Northeastern Ontario board of directors and a resident of Timmins.
âNow, together we have grown to build an even stronger northeast region.â
