SACRAMENTO COUNTY, Calif.
6:40 p.m. update
CHP received reports a little after 4:45 a.m. of a car off the roadway and another was blocking the southbound lane. They were told both vehicles had major front-end damage. Rio Vista Fire Department declared both drivers dead at the scene.
CHP believes the crash happened in the southbound lane. Officers will be contacting those who called in the crash.
The identities of the victims were not released as of publication. CHP currently does not know if drugs or alcohol were involved in the crash.
SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) The new year meant the official start of an all-electronic toll collection for Bay Area bridges, including the Bay Bridge, according to the Bay Area Toll Authority.
Drivers will need to have a FasTrak or a license plate account when they go through toll booths on the Antioch, Benicia-Martinez, Carquinez, Dumbarton, Richmond-San Rafael, Bay Bridge and San Mateo-Hayward bridges.

Dozens of anglers, competing in teams of two for the biggest bass they could find, disappeared beyond the weed beds and tule thickets into the maze of rivers and sloughs. Each was chasing a cash prize and the satisfaction of conquering one of the West’s premier spots for sportfishing: the Sacramento-San Joaquin River Delta.
