According to the amended rules, every publisher of online curated contents displaying tobacco products or their use has to display anti-tobacco health spots, for a minimum 30 seconds each at the beginning and middle of the programme.
On the World No Tobacco Day, the Union health ministry on Wednesday notified the amended rules under the Cigarettes and Other Tobacco Products Act, 2004, making it mandatory.
Online content publishers are now required to display anti-tobacco health spots, lasting at least thirty seconds, at the beginning and middle of their programs.
An audio-visual disclaimer of a minimum of 20 seconds on the ill effects of tobacco use will have to be displayed at the beginning and middle of the programme.
