Police reshuffle January 23, 2021 Islamabad: Reshuffling continued in police department at different levels, the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad has repositioned eight police officers of grade-18 and 17. According to the notification issued from the office of IGP, SP Industrial Area Zone, Zubair Sheikh has been transferred to Anti-Riot Unit (ARU) to command the force, SP Abdur Razzaque has been transferred from Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) to SP (SSG), while, SP Arshad Mehmood has been appointed as SP Investigation, replacing SP CID (CTD) Malik Naeem Iqbal who has been transferred as SP DPD. The IGP appointed SP Captain (r) Hamzah Hamayun as SP (Traffic) who was awaiting for posting. SP Mohammad Usman Tipu, SP DPD, has transferred to CPO as AIG/Operations, while SSP Khalid Rashid who was awaiting posting, has been appointed as SSP (Law & Order). In another notification, ASP Usman Munir, who was awaiting for posting, has been appointed as SDPO Ramna.

Pak police resorts to baton-charge, tear gas shelling on teachers protesting new regularisation policy ANI | Updated: Dec 20, 2020 17:29 IST Islamabad [Pakistan], December 20 (ANI): As several teachers in Pakistan held a protest near Prime Minister Imran Khan s residence in Banigala on Saturday to protest against the new regularisation policy of their department, police resorted to use of force by firing tear gas and baton-charging the protesters. Police officers informed that a small unit succeeded in pushing back the protesters and getting the road leading to the premier s residence cleared, reported Dawn. The area was later sealed and given under the protection of a well-equipped police contingent that included personnel of the Counter-Terrorism Department and Anti-Riot Unit, while dozens of protesting teachers were detained in different police stations.
