ISLAMABAD: Four armed persons were arrested from a house near the Red Zone on Saturday night.
Police said they received information about presence of robbers in the house located in G-6. In response, a team, including officials from the Crisis Response Team, Counter-Terrorism Force and patrolling staff reached the area and cordoned it off.
Superintendent of Police City Omer Khan and Deputy Inspector General of Police (Operations) Waqaruddin Syed also reached the spot. Seeing the police, the gunmen threatened to kill an elderly resident of the house.
They showed their weapons to the police and also fired from the house, said the police. Talks were conducted with the armed men after which they came out of the house and surrendered.

ISLAMABAD: All the five officials of Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) involved in the killing of the 21-year-old youth on Jan 2 have been dismissed from service.
Moreover, two separate requests have been sent to the Interior Ministry and the Islamabad High Court (IHC) for constitution of a judicial commission to probe the incident.
The dismissal orders were issued from the office of the senior superintendent of police (SSP) Islamabad, which is being looked after by Deputy Inspector General of Police (Operations) Waqaruddin Syed since 2019.
