India News: Former Supreme Court judge A M Khanwilkar has been appointed as the chairman of Lokpal, two years after Justice Pinaki Chandra Ghose completed his term. The Lokpal also appointed three judicial members and three non-judicial members. The appointments were made by the President on the recommendation of a five-member selection committee. The Lokpal still has two vacancies.
Justice Pradip Kumar Mohanty, a judicial member of the Lokpal, is currently the acting chairperson. President Droupadi Murmu is pleased to appoint Justice Ajay Manikrao Khanwilkar as the chairperson of the Lokpal, according to a communique issued by the Rashtrapati Bhavan.

TMC leader Mahua Moitra has responded to a CBI questionnaire on corruption allegations in raising house questions. The CBI is examining the response and will send a report to anti-corruption ombudsman Lokpal. The agency is conducting a preliminary inquiry into the allegations against Moitra. BJP MP Nishikant Dubey accused Moitra of asking questions to target the Adani group and Prime Minister Narendra Modi in exchange for gifts.
