A civil rights case filed in federal court by Warren Mayor James Fouts had a status conference Tuesday morning, but no date was set for oral arguments.
Macomb County Clerk Anthony Forlini filed a motion Aug. 9 to dismiss a federal lawsuit filed against him, the Warren CIty Council, Warren Election Commission and Warren City Clerk Sonja Buffa by Warren Mayor James Fouts on Aug. 2.
Despite Warren Mayor James Fouts serving his final term in the position he has held since 2007, primary election results indicate he still wields significant influence in the city with all of the candidates he endorsed advancing to the general election in November.
WARREN George L. Dimas and Lori M. Stone were the two top vote-getters in Warren’s Aug. 8 mayoral primary election, setting up a November contest without an incumbent mayor for the first time in 16 years.
