CHERRY HILL, NJ The owners of the Cherry Hill Mall reported a loss of $49.6 million for the first three months of the year.
The Pennsylvania Real Estate Investment Trust (PREIT) on Thursday posted its quarterly report for the first three months of 2021. The $49.6 million loss for the period ending March 31 comes out to a loss of about 64 cents per share. Over the same period last year, PREIT lost $19.9 million, or 26 cents per share.
That period included two and a half months in which the Cherry Hill Mall and malls across the country were fully operational before closing down for an extended period due to the coronavirus pandemic, the results of which are still being felt.

A transaction has been executed with Cooper Hospital for an outpatient location in the former Sears space at Moorestown Mall, the Pennsylvania Real Estate Investment Trust (PREIT) said in announcing its full 2020 financial results and earnings for the first quarter of 2021. EDISON, NJ A Camden County man who considered staging a machete attack at Menlo Park mall has admitted to conspiring to attack minority-owned businesses, federal officials announced on Friday.
Richard Tobin, 19, of Brooklawn, pleaded guilty to an information charging him with conspiracy against rights, Acting U.S. Attorney Rachael A. Honig announced.
He admitted to conspiring with members of The Base white supremacist group to threaten and intimidate African Americans and Jewish Americans by vandalizing minority-owned properties throughout the country in September 2019, according to authorities.
