QUINCY  City councilors at a meeting Monday acknowledged that an entire city department dedicated to diversity and inclusion may not be in the cards  right now, but still pressured the mayor s administration to take more concrete steps toward a commission to examine equity at city hall.  Anthony Andronico, Ward 2 city councilor, submitted a resolve this week asking for an update on the formal establishment of the diversity, equity and inclusion commission. In January, councilors asked the mayor s office to form a Quincy Department of Social Justice and Equity, and two months later the mayor said he would instead form a committee to investigate the city s hiring practices and public outreach efforts when it comes to diversity, equity and inclusion.
