Social Share Although their positions were already confirmed, double crown queens UWI Blackbirds and former champions Chargers brought an exciting climax to the end of the Goddard Enterprises Limited division one volleyball season on Thursday night at the Wildey Gymnasium. Shakera Hall led the Blackbirds to a 25-19, 26-28, 25-19, 25-19 win for UWI to end with a 13-1 record and 59 points. Chargers who had lost their knockout title to UWI finished runners-up with 51 points from a 10-4 record. Hall enjoyed tremendous support from captain Dania Hamilton and six footer Tenielle Chapman-Goodluck to deny Chargers a season ending morale victory. Former Barbados captain Thonya Joseph gave over a dozen of her placard waving student from the Springer Memorial School many moments to scream down the Gym.
