Fairfield-chamberAnnual-peachPeach-festivalClemson, S.C. – Women’s basketball forward Amari Robinson was honored at the 39th Annual Peach of an Athlete Role Model Banquet last night at Truist Park, home of the Atlanta Braves. Robinson was one of 10 amateur collegiate student-athletes named honorees by the Atlanta Area Council and Boy Scouts of America. Each year, the Atlanta Area Council and Boy Scouts of America honor student-athletes from the state of Georgia or a college or university in Georgia, who have distinguished themselves by their character, scholastic achievement, academic excellence, and community service – characteristics taught every day in the Scouting program. The Scouting organization takes great pride in recognizing those who serve as good “Role Models for Youth.” Robinson, a native of Douglasville, Ga., started all 35 games this season for the Tigers and was named Second Team All-ACC after averaging a team-high 13.9 points and 6.4 rebounds per game. Leesburg Classic Car Show
Downtown Leesburg will be hosting their monthly classic car show on Saturday from 4 to 8 p.m. on Main Street. The theme is “Gangsters of the 30s and 40s.”
Classic cars will line the streets and there will be live music and vendors. The downtown shops and restaurants will also be open.
The event is free.
Parents Night Out
The Leesburg Parks and Recreation Department is hosting their monthly Parents Night Out on Friday from 5:30 to 10 p.m. This month will feature volleyball at the gym located at 1851 Griffin Road.
Children ages six to 12 can be dropped off for a fun filled evening with crafts, games, a movie and pizza party.
