The project was started in the fall of 2019 as a partnership between the county, Kohler Company and the Wisconsin Bureau of Aeronautics. According to a news release Friday, both corporate and general aviation will be able to fly directly from abroad to Sheboygan County. The presence of a local CBP (Customs and Border Patrol) office will enhance the attractiveness of international business growth and tourism for the entire area,” said John Kelchen, director of aviation for Kohler Co.
