Hurricane sandy strengthened over the night. Want to give you the information we know right now. Sandy is a category 1 hurricane with wind speeds of 85 Miles Per Hour. Its located about 285 miles east of cape hatteras, North Carolina. Emergency officials in new york city and washington, d. C. Had taking unprecedented actions to deal with this storm. Thats righ the mass Transit Systems shut down, schools cancelled. The stock markets are also closed. The first weatherrelated closure in 27 years, and just take a look at this nasa image from space. The wind gusts looking on our storm watch 7 future cast will be in the 25 to 30mileperhour range overnight early tomorrow and then stay very breezy throughout the day with a fair amount of sunshine. All these little blue dots you see, the dark blue, are wind damage reports, and the lighter blue are high wind gusts about 129 as we can count them through the midatlantic area reported so far and no surprise with the high winds.
