Earl Spencer, Princess Diana’s brother who did the moving eulogy at her funeral, has revealed the true story behind a rare photo showing him with his late sister.
Earl Spencer, the youngest of the four Spencer siblings, was forwarded the image by one of his Twitter followers. The monochrome photograph shows Diana –
Tatler’s June cover – looking uncharacteristically dower and the Earl equally stone-faced. The photo was captioned: ‘That time Diana and her brother looked like they were on the cover of a Smiths album. So cool.’

The nursery even has the
Tatler seal of approval, having been described in the Best Nursery Guide 2017 as a ‘hidden gem’ that ‘flies under the radar’, but has ‘a loyal following – a mix of old English families and chic foreigners’. This doesn’t mean, however, that a space isn’t highly coveted, with the Guide adding: ‘Yes, you should register at birth and yes, there are waiting lists’. The entry also stressed that ‘Kindness is evident everywhere’, which was no doubt a draw for Prince William and Kate.

The US writer-producer will be crafting the biographical series using source material from
Audrey at Home: Memories of My Mother’s Kitchen, written by Hepburn’s son, Luca Dotti, and writer and journalist Luigi Spinola. From keen photographer to accomplished sailor, the Duchess of Cambridge has many strings to her bow. One among them is her aptitude for gardening, with Kate even having co-designed a series of ‘Back to Nature’ gardens in 2019 – the first of which was shown at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show. An exciting space aimed at immersing children in nature, it’s now been reported that the garden may have influenced the redevelopment of a children’s playground at Sandringham.
