On Friday 9 April, the Duke of Edinburgh died at Windsor Castle aged 99. The longest serving royal consort in history, he had been by the side of his wife, the Queen, for over 73 years, since the couple married as a young Prince and Princess in 1947. Now, less than a week on from the death of her beloved husband, the monarch has resumed royal duties, hosting a retirement ceremony for the Royal Household’s most senior official.
On Tuesday 13 April, four days after Philip’s passing, the Queen held the event as a send off for outgoing Lord Chamberlain Earl Peel, who is being replaced by the former MI5 head, Baron Parker of Minsmere. In a stoic embodiment of her service as head of state, she did not miss the significant day, holding an official audience with Earl Peel to pay tribute to his 14-year tenure despite the Royal Family currently being in the midst of a two-week mourning period.

What does every billionaire property developer require? Well, a tunnel of course. An effective device to link up the disparate entities of their expansive estates â the underground car museum, the multiple swimming pools, the dance studio, gym, cinema as well as the rest of the house.
Christian Candy, 46, one half of the billionaire Candy brothers, has just been given the green light to carry out just this â to dig two huge tunnels connecting his £150 million estate, known as Candyland in Egham, Surrey.

Not only has he won permission to construct the tunnels but he has also been given the okay to demolish a gatehouse and stables, in order to replace them with a new building and garage (much to the reported irritation of their neighbours).

Tributes have been pouring in following the death of Prince Philip, the Queen’s husband, who passed away on Friday 9 April aged 99. One idea being touted as a memorial to the late Duke of Edinburgh is to establish a new Royal Yacht Britannia, after the last royal vessel was decommissioned in 1997.
The
Sunday Telegraph reports that Prime Minister Boris Johnson is facing calls from MPs, Cabinet ministers and even a former Britannia captain to support the construction of a new yacht, to be named HMY The Duke of Edinburgh.
