Three boy scouts to show them a cave hes been before. When he entered the gave a black bear grabbed his foot and dragged him into the cave. He curled into fetal. We have a helicopter above them. All of us are going to go for those kids. Reporter three scouts called 911 and started a fire to smoke the bear out of the cave and signal their location to emergency responders. They are amazing kids. Sometimes we dont give our kids enough credit. Has amusing. Reporter ann shannon came to visit. Her son was in the same troop but not on this excursion. She describes him as adventurous and good with the kids. He shows them fun and adventurous things and teaching them outdoor skills. Biting him. He tried fighting it off. He struck the bear with a hammer but the animal wouldnt let up. Emergency radio calls went out shortly thereafter. We have a gentleman in the cave with a bear. The three children ages 10 to 12 stayed calm outside the cage and called 911. They location. They put their skills to use. They have started a fire possibly for a smoke signal. The scouts put food near the cave to lure the bear out, but that didnt work. The bear stayed in the cave for a substantial amount of time and eventually ran off. Emergency crews finally reached the group an hour and a half after that 911 call went out because of the rocky and steep terrain. They airlifted him to morristown medical center. His injuries are not significant. Thank goodness, especially this time of the year you dont want anything bad to happen. Reporter such a scary situation. Paradise dealershitownship afte truck and school bus collided. The accident happened here at about 8 30 this morning. A dump truck was coming through this intersection when it rolled through the stop sign just as the school bus was coming through. Now, the bus, which had the special needs students on board, flipped onto its side, rolled across the street, and landed in that field behind me. Now, passers by and neighbors in the area worked quickly to get those students, two of whom were restrained in wheelchairs and another two buckled in seats, they got them out of the bus. They were transported to a local hospital with nonlife threatening injuries. As for the dump truck driver, he told me he is fine but he was very smhaken.
