All charges have been stayed against an eastern Ontario bar server on trial for the deaths of two teen boys, killed when their vehicle veered off a rural road near Burnstown, Ont., in 2017.
OTTAWA Charges against an Ottawa Valley server and bartender in connection to a 2017 car crash that killed two teens have been stayed. Ontario Provincial Police charged Ann Senack of Greater Madawaska Township in 2019 with two counts of criminal negligence causing death and two counts of criminal negligence causing bodily harm. The lawyer for Senack confirmed to CTV News Ottawa Thursday afternoon that the prosecutors stayed the charges against Senack. Brandon Hanniman and Alexander Paquette, both 18, died of injuries sustained in a single vehicle crash on Oct. 27, 2017 near Burnstown, Ont. Police said the investigation determined alcohol was a factor in the rollover crash and that the teens had been drinking under age at a local establishment.

The criminal negligence trial of Ann Senack took a dramatic turn when it adjourned on April 30 with Crown prosecutors saying they needed to re-evaluate the “fabric” of the case against Senack, the former bartender accused of over-serving youths at Shooters Bar & Grill in October 2017 prior to a fatal crash involving four local hockey players.
When the matter resumed in Renfrew court Thursday, Crown attorney Jeffery Richardson informed the court Senack would be entering into a peace bond agreement, bringing an abrupt end to her trial on criminal negligence in the deaths of 18-year-olds Brandon Hanniman and Alexander Paquette.
