Mary Ann Hogan lived a life of purpose

Mary Ann Hogan passed away on June 4, 2021. She was 90 years old. She was a member and chairperson of the Hernando County School Board. A member of the Junior Service League of Brooksville. A newspaper columnist for the Sun Journal, writing the popular column in the 1960’s called “Shifting Sand with Mary Ann.”  She served on the Board of Directors for the Salvation Army, the Board of Governors of Southwest Florida Water Management District (SWFWMD), the Board of Directors of Brooksville’s Historical Museum and served as a member of the Hernando Chamber of Commerce.

Lois and PJ Connor died at the Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus, Ohio, on Jan. 30, news station ABC 6 reported this week. The pair had been married for 52 years and are survived by three adult children: Patrick Connor, Mary Mazik and Ann Lanier, as well as several grandchildren and a great-grandchild.

The Connors were married for 52 years. Their adult children said they traveled the world and got to do a lot of things in their lifetime, together.
