The Indian-American diaspora community celebrated India s Independence Day at Times Square, unveiling an 1800 kg Chakra sculpture replica from the Sun Temple in Konark, Odisha. The sculpture, which stands eight feet by six feet and will be displayed for a week, represents India s rich cultural heritage and the shared values between the two nations. The Indian Consul General, Randhir Jaiswal, presided over the flag hoisting ceremony, while Ustad Amjad Ali Khan and Michelin star chef Vikas Khanna attended the event. FIA chaired the event with other officials, including representatives from the IAAC.
