The results of a unique chess tournament – the FIDE Online World Corporate Chess Championship, held for the first time in chess history, have been announced. The tournament brought together 288 companies from 78 countries, representing the leading sectors of the global economy. The strongest corporate chess team was the team of Grenke Bank, part of the Grenke Group - one of the leading players in the finance sector. A wine-and-chess set Chateau La Grace Dieu des Prieurs, Saint-Emilion Grand Cru, ‘Art Russe Collection 2014’ has become a special prize for the winner of the Championship.
The special prize was established at the initiative of Andrei Filatov, the owner of Chateau La Grace Dieu des Prieurs and the President of the Russian Chess Federation. Six bottles of the unique wine from Saint-Emilion, with Russian art on the labels, contained in a special-edition chess box with a set of chess pieces and a chessboard lid, will be shipped to Germany.

The winners of the FIDE Online World Corporate Chess Championship – the Grenke Bank team – have been gifted a bespoke wine and chess set from Chateau La Grace Dieu des Prieurs in Bordeaux.

The tournament brought together 1,500 chess players representing 288 companies from 78 countries across the leading sectors of the global economy, including energy, banking, tech, e-commerce and electronics.
Among the companies taking part were: Amazon, Samsung, Ford, Microsoft, Facebook, Siemens, Dell, Airbus, IBM, Boeing, Sony, Twitter, Goldman Sachs Morgan Stanley, Vodafone, American Express, Deutsche Bank, UBS, Credit Suisse and Airbnb, who fought for the title of the world’s best corporate chess team.
