By MATT PIKE St. Joseph Post Adoption events held by the St. Joseph Animal Shelter have been successful, but the shelter is still overflowing with pets. And because of that the Friends of the Animal Shelter is once again helping with reducing adoption fees. Friends of the Animal Shelters Melanie Barnes says through Saturday adoption fees for all pets will only be 25 dollars. "It has really helped provide some space, open up some space in the kennels, lots of cats and lots of kittens still, so go down and check it out if you're thinking about adopting," Barnes tells KFEQ Hotline host Barry Birr. Barnes says the last time Friends of the Animal Shelter helped with reduced adoption fees the shelter saw 96 pets get adopted. With the animal shelter still overflowing with pets, Friends of the Animal Shelter will hold different events in October to help encourage adoption. Barnes says the first event coming in October will be a concert called the Barks and Brews fundraiser.�
