And im elizabeth cook. The blighted library burned down this afternoon on miller avenue in east oakland. Kpix 5 chris nair says it has been used by squatters. Reporter investigators say the building is a complete loss tonight after the third fire in less than a year. Neighbors say the city of oakland should have closed it up years ago. The top floor of the building that was once east oaklands library looked nothing more than a fire ball. The whole top floor is gone.
