GPs have visited all older people’s care homes in the Cotswold district to carry out COVID-19 vaccinations GP leaders have praised GP surgery teams, care homes and pharmacy professionals after a significant COVID-19 vaccination milestone was reached in the Cotswold district. GPs have been into every CQC registered older people’s care home in the area with residents receiving their first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine. First Covid-19 vaccinations begin at Cirencester Hospital

CIRENCESTER Hospital has officially launched its coronavirus vaccination programme. Brian Horton, 82, from Cirencester and Roger Parfitt, 84, from Tetbury, were two of the first patients to receive the Pfizer vaccine at the hospital earlier this week. After receiving the jab, Roger said: I hope with the second injection in three weeks time that my life can become nearer to normal. The start of the hospital’s vaccination programme has been welcomed by Dr Angus McMyn, lead GP for the Community Vaccination Centre at Cirencester Hospital. He said: “It is a very proud moment to be part of this national vaccination programme and we are really excited to be able to start protecting some of our highest risk patients against the virus.
