After searching matthews car and apartment, police now say the evidence they collected links to yet another case, the 2009 disappearance and murder of morgan harrington. The Virginia Tech student was in charlottesville when she vanished, her remains found a few months later in a field. Harringtons case linked to a 2005 case in fairfax.
